It just makes sense to look to celebrities for beauty advice — after all, they’ve logged a lifetime of sitting in hair and makeup chairs.
While not every A-lister is interested in taking what they’ve learned from getting glam and applying it to their own beauty brand, some have, especially in the music industry. Since 2017, the likes of Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and more have launched their lucrative cosmetics, skincare, and hair care lines in their names, and frankly, we’re here to thank them for that.
At a Glance: The Best Musician-Backed Beauty Brands of 2024:
- Best New Drop: r.e.m. beauty by Ariana Grande
- Best Blush: Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez
- Best Foundation: Fenty Beauty by Rihanna
- Best Makeup Tool: Haus Labs by Lady Gaga
- Best Cleanser: Keys Soulcare by Alicia Keys
The best celebrity beauty brands not only give fans a chance to get a piece of their favorite singers off-stage, but it also is a chance to support their non-musical entrepreneurial endeavors. For instance, Rihanna hasn’t released a song in nearly a decade, but her best-selling makeup brand frequently launches new products, so at least we have that.
While every musician-backed beauty brand isn’t worth your money (for some, it’s probably best to save your hard-earned cash for their concert instead), there are ones that are worth every penny. Check out our favorite celebrity beauty brands helmed by chart-topping artists, including Lady Gaga, Victoria Beckham, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, and even Travis Barker (that is not a typo) below.

r.e.m. beauty + Wicked by Ariana Grande
Galinda Makeup Set
Theater fans, this one is for you. Ariana Grande’s popular makeup line, r.e.m. beauty, just announced a limited-edition collection in partnership with the soon-to-be-released Wicked movie(hitting theaters November 22). Featuring nine products that are based on themes and scenes from what we likely expect to be a blockbuster hit, you’ll find eye shadows, blush, skincare, lip liners, eye masks, and more. While we can’t guarantee that this collection will make you more “Popular” we can guarantee that the Galinda Makeup Set will make you feel glam enough to take on the Emerald City. This collaboration is available on Sephora, as well as the r.e.m. beauty site.
Best blush
Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez
Soft Pinch Liquid Blush
I first came across Selena Gomez’s makeup line, Rare Beauty, in 2020 after seeing it go viral on TikTok, and I have been hooked ever since. Not only do the products come in stylish packaging and everything is under $30 (thanks, Selener), but the makeup is extremely lightweight and breathable, so it doesn’t feel caked onto your face. The line consists of foundations, (which come in nearly 50 shades), blush, concealers, powders, lipsticks, eyeshadow palettes, beauty tools, and more cosmetics in inclusive colors. Their best-selling Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, however, is definitely a standout product. The application is so smooth and it just melts seamlessly into the skin. You can easily blend it with a brush, sponge, or your hand, and get the same, perfect luminizing effect, every time.
best foundation
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna
Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
Fenty Beauty launched back in 2017, and their Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation became an overnight success. Nearly eight years later, this soft-matte, lightweight product is still as popular as ever. Not only does it provide full coverage and help reduce the look of blemishes and unwanted discoloration, but it also comes in 50 different shades—from light to deep. It’s sweat-resistant, won’t crease, and lasts all day. I’ll admit, I was a late adopter of this foundation, and now it’s my go-to. In the past, I wore heavy amounts of concealer under my base, because the dark circles under my eyes made it look like I’ve worked a 9 to 5 since I was a child, but with this product, I don’t need that. The initial application of the foundation covers everything you want to hide but still ensures that your skin can breathe. I could wax poetic about this product forever, but the brand’s other makeup, from blush to highlighter to lip liner, is just as good.

About – Face by Halsey
Matte Fluid Eye Paint
After stringing along social media-savvy beauty buffs for months (which, let’s be real, the FBI works hard, but they work harder), Ashley Frangipane, a.k.a. Halsey, revealed that she’s the face and founder behind colorful cosmetics line, About – Face. The cruelty-free label quickly established its signature aesthetic of “multi-dimensional makeup for everyone,” such as shimmering highlighters in powder, liquid, and stick form, matte lipsticks, and more. For those seeking more experimental looks, the brand’s versatile eyeshadow sticks come in pearly and matte options, and in bold shades such as chartreuse, ginger, pollen, robin’s egg blue, pink ice, and others. Our editors especially love this line, because they’re the perfect products to wear to a concert, musical festival, or any other event where you want a more dynamic, statement-making look. In other words: About – Face will help you get “beat for the gods.”
best cleanser
Keys Soulcare by Alicia Keys
Golden Face Cleanser With Manuka Honey
When Alicia Keys swore off makeup nearly a decade ago, she helped to empower fans to embrace their own skin. The next step in that mission? The Grammy-winning musician teamed with drugstore brand E.L.F. Cosmetics to debut Keys Soulcare, her first line of wellness-focused, ritual-inspired beauty products. The cruelty-free brand is comprised of dermatologist-developed skincare and self-care essentials, including a nourishing face cream, a purifying sandalwood-scented face mask concocted with hydrating Manuka honey, an obsidian face roller for de-puffing, and a sage and oat milk candle. Our favorite is the Golden Face Cleanser With Manuka Honey. Developed by dermatologists, it gently removes makeup while nourishing your skin at the same time, leaving you with a fresh, clean face that is soft to the touch.
best beauty tool
Haus Laboratories by Lady Gaga
Dual-Ended Multi-Purpose Brush
Launched in 2019, Lady Gaga‘s Haus of Laboratories beauty line is comprised of gender-neutral cosmetics for transforming into Mother Monster-approved looks. The vegan and cruelty-free collection features show-stopping eyeshadow palettes in glittering shades, vibrant lip colors, liquid eyeliners, and more, all created to inspire “self-expression and invention,” per a press release. This week, the brand dropped a 12-minute “get ready with me” video, featuring the mega-superstar doing a full face of makeup with just one brush. That brush happens to be Haus Lab’s Dual-Ended Multi-Purpose Brush, which features soft bristles, the ability to work with both cream and powder formulas, and a sleek silver shape. In the video, Gaga said of Haus Labs, “One of my core goals at the company is to develop innovative and high-performing products that are meaningfully better than anything else you can find on the shelf,” and this tool proves just that.
best mascara
Victoria Beckham Beauty by Victoria Beckham
Vast Lash Mascara
It should come as no surprise that someone with the stage name “Posh Spice” would come out with a luxury makeup and skincare line. Victoria Beckham Beauty features sustainable eye, lip, and face products, as well as skincare and fragrances. The Vast Lash Mascara is a fan-favorite due to the fact that it doesn’t produce flakes, has a wide, fluffy brush, and gives just the right amount of volume without being overpowering. Although this line is a little pricier than other options, the products themselves feel expensive, which again, should be expected from the fashion icon.
best tattoo balm
Barker Wellness Co. by Travis Barker
Tattoo Balm
If you have tattoos, you know it can sometimes be a challenge to ensure that they stay in pristine condition. I can’t imagine anything worse than starting out with some ink that looks like your dog, and then over time, your best friend turns into a sad looking blob. That’s why you need products that not only moisturize and protect your tats but ones that will help preserve them for years to come. Travis Barker (you know, the blink-182 drummer who has a trillion tattoos), created a line of healing balms, butter, and body oils that will stop your art from fading. Made with rejuvenating formulas, they’re safe, not greasy, and will nourish your skin.
best fragrance
Eilish No. 2 by Billie Eilish
Eilish No. 2
Although fragrance is technically in a category all its own, we couldn’t leave this one off the list. Eilish No. 2 by nine-time Grammy Award Winner, Billie Eilish, has to be one of the best-smelling celebrity perfumes on the market. It has scent notes of fruits, flowers, and spices, and is vegan and cruelty-free. I wore this perfume to an event where I didn’t know a single soul except the person who was hosting, and I received non-stop compliments from strangers about good I smelled. Which, under normal circumstances could be considered a little strange, but once you whiff this fragrance for yourself, you’ll see it was warranted. Plus, the bust-shaped bottle will look pretty damn chic on any nightstand or dresser.
best serum
JLo Beauty by Jennifer Lopez
Glow Brightening & Firming Serum With Niacinamide
This brightening serum promises deep hydration for all skin types, thanks to JLo Beauty’s proprietary olive complex, a blend of extra virgin olive oil, fermented oil, leaf extract, and squalane designed to address signs of aging. It also contains niacinamide ( a type of vitamin that can make skin look younger and smoother), for a soft and vibrant visage.
