A ‘Wicked’ Box Set Release Teases Potential Streaming Date for the Musical Film

Wicked has become an instant hit at the box office, with the movie musical debuting with a record-breaking $114 million on opening weekend. That number helped Wicked open as biggest box office launch of all time for a Broadway adaptation. It’s also the fourth-biggest opening ever for a musical film.

While Wicked is still soaring in theaters, fans can start to prep their Wicked viewing parties at home. Amazon has unveiled a limited-edition Wicked box set, that features the film on 4K UHD Blu-ray, along with a set of gold-tone metal bookends, exclusive merch and collectible packaging.

While Universal Pictures has yet to officially announced a physical release for Wicked, Amazon lists a March 31 date for the Blu-ray copies to ship. That would put it close to the typical 90-day theatrical window that most new releases have, before films hit streaming and home media.

How to Stream Wicked Online

Want to stream Wicked online? An official streaming date for Wicked: Part One has yet to be announced, but fans can likely watch the Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo musical online around the same March 31 date. Since Wicked is a Universal Pictures release, you’ll likely be able to watch Wicked online through NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock.

Peacock has a new documentary titled Defying Gravity: The Curtain Rises on Wicked, which features interviews with the cast about the making of the film. In addition to Grande and Erivo, Wicked stars Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Ethan Slater as Boq and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard. Wicked: Part two is set to premiere in theaters in November 2025.
