Brutal ringside footage shows the moment Daniel Dubois KO’d Anthony Joshua to defend IBF heavyweight title

Daniel Dubois’ monstrous right hand that rendered Anthony Joshua unconscious has been caught on epic ringside footage.

The 27-year-old dropped AJ four times at Wembley on Saturday night, culminating in him knocking his British rival out in the fifth round to defend his IBF heavyweight title.

AJ instantly fell to the canvas and was unable to beat the count

Joshua tasted the canvas in every round bar the second, with the two-time world champion unable to cope with Dubois‘ power and relentless aggression.

But having managed to beat the count three times, he was unable to get back to his feet after eating a massive right hand to the chin.

In ringside footage, the 2012 Olympic gold medallist could be seen charging towards Dubois, which saw him push his opponent back against the ropes.

His friend and ex-WBC cruiserweight king Tony Bellew was up on his feet and was seen willing Joshua on.

Bellew was caught on camera punching the air – and Joshua proceeded to give it all he had.

Two clubbing right hooks were followed by an uppercut which seemed to put Dubois on unsteady legs.

But Dubois responded in devastating fashion – unleashing a punch from the heavens which saw AJ’s legs instantly buckling.

He then fell head first against the canvas as fans in attendance at the Home of Football reacted by screaming in shock and awe.

As Dubois was seen jogging over to the nearby corner, referee Marcus McDonnell began his ten-count.

However Joshua never had control of his body and failed to even get to his knees.

Even Bellew seemingly knew his pal was done for, as he was seen turning around and shaking his head as the referee approached Joshua.

AJ has now lost four times from his 32-fight professional career, where he has suffered his first KO defeat since being blasted out by Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.

Joshua went into the contest against Dubois as the favourite after rebuilding his career with four brutal knockouts of his own following back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

Speaking after the bout, a disappointed Joshua said: “Credit to him and his team. We rolled the dice of success, but we came up short.

“You know I’m ready to kick off in the ring, but I’m going to keep my cool, keep very professional, and give respect to my opponent.

“I’m always saying to myself I’m a fighter for life… We keep rolling the dice.

“I had a sharp opponent, a fast opponent and a lot of mistakes from my end, but that’s the game.”

Meanwhile a jubilant Dubois roared: “I’ve only got a few words to say: Are you not entertained?!

“It’s been a long journey, I’m grateful to be in this position.

“I’m a gladiator, I’m a warrior to the bitter end. I want to reach the top level of this game and reach my full potential.

“I’ve been on a rollercoaster ride. This is my time, this is my redemption story, and I’m not going to stop until I reach my full potential.”
