Chappell Roan’s ‘Midwest Princess’ Vinyl Reissue Is Here — Where to Buy the Exclusive Editions

Budding pop supernova and current Rolling Stone cover star Chappell Roan capped a landmark summer at last week’s VMAs, triumphantly performing “Good Luck, Babe!” and picking up the Best New Artist award in the process. She dedicated her emotional speech “to queer and trans people that fuel pop.”

Chappell Roan’s white hot year pushed her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess to the top of Billboard’s Vinyl Albums Chart in August. Sales are sure to keep climbing, as an anniversary reissue of the album is dropping today. The reissue marks a year to the week of the album’s initial release and is pressed on a pink color dubbed ‘My Kink Is Coral.’ The reissue also features deluxe packaging, with an outer cut-out sleeve that frames the cover.

In addition to the deluxe reissue, the album is getting the exclusive treatment from Target and Urban Outfitters. The retailers are releasing unique colorways that come with extras like posters. Chappell Roan toured with Olivia Rodrigo on her Guts Tour, opening for her through the winter and spring dates. The two reunited when Rodrigo brought Chappell Roan out to perform “Hot to Go!” They performed the track (and the dance) at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles during Rodrigo’s penultimate show of the US leg of the Guts Tour in August.

Guts and The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess share a producer in Dan Nigro, who has also worked with Sky Ferreira, Conan Gray, and Caroline Polachek. Of their partnership, Chappell Roan said in a 2022 Rolling Stone interview, “I like it when people push me and tell me that my lyrics or the performance is not good enough. That’s not really the case for most co-writers out here that I’ve worked with. Until I met Dan.” Their first collaboration was 2018’s “Pink Pony Club,” which is featured on the full-length.
