Eighteen years have come and gone since My Chemical Romance first released their 2006 rock opera stunner and welcomed fans to The Black Parade. Kicking off next summer, the band will carry on and return to the road to celebrate their critically acclaimed concept project, which featured hits like “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “Teenagers.” Tickets are now on sale — and, unsurprisingly, selling out.

“It has been seventeen years since The Black Parade was sent to the MOAT,” the band shared online ahead of Long Live: The Black Parade Tour general sale. “In that time, a great Dictator has risen to power, bringing about ‘THE CONCRETE AGE’; a glorious time of stability and abundance in the history of DRAAG. His Grand Immortal Dictator wishes to celebrate our rich and storied culture, fine foods, and musical entertainments by welcoming you to these great demonstrations of power and resolve. And lending voice and song for the first time in six thousand two hundred and forty six days, their work privilege ceremoniously reinstated, will be His Grand Immortal Dictator’s National Band… The Black Parade.”
The band ended the post with: “Long Live Draag.”

My Chemical Romance ‘The Black Parade’
Vinyl LP
“My Chemical Romance may be the oldest young band in America,” David Fricke wrote in Rolling Stone‘s The Black Parade album review in 2006. “None of the members — singer Gerard Way, his brother and bassist Mikey, drummer Bob Bryar and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero — is old enough to have bought David Bowie’s Diamond Dogs on the day it came out. But The Black Parade, the New Jersey group’s third studio album, is the best mid-Seventies record of 2006, a rabid, ingenious paraphrasing of echoes and kitsch from rock’s golden age of bombast.”
