Jonathan Majors’ Ex-Girlfriend Drops Assault, Defamation Lawsuit

Jonathan Majors‘ ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari dropped her federal lawsuit against the actor accusing him of assault and defamation.

The dismissal arrives nearly a year after Majors was convicted of recklessly assaulting and harassing Jabbari. In April, he was sentenced to a 52-week domestic-abuse prevention program.

On Thursday, lawyers for both parties filed a joint notice with the court, writing that “all claims against Defendant in the above-captioned action are hereby dismissed with prejudice.”

Reps for Majors and Jabbari did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In March, Jabbari sued the former Marvel actor for defamation, malicious prosecution, assault and battery, detailing more instances where Majors allegedly physically abused her during their nearly two-year relationship.

“When publicly confronted with Grace’s numerous allegations of abuse, Majors has called her a liar at every turn and very specifically claimed that he has never put his hands on a woman, with the goal of convincing the world that Grace is not a victim of domestic abuse but instead a crazy liar who should be treated as such,” the lawsuit claimed.  

Majors was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and a harassment violation for injuring Jabbari in March 2023 after a fight broke out over his phone when Jabbari saw him receive a romantic text from another woman. Jabbari suffered a fractured finger and a gash behind her ear. The actor maintained his innocence and claimed Jabbari was the aggressor that night. (He was acquitted of the two more serious charges, intentional assault and aggravated harassment.)

Following Major’s conviction in December, Jabbari’s legal team claimed that Majors defamed their client by making numerous false statements, stating that both Majors and his attorneys were “keenly aware of Grace’s allegations that Majors has physically laid hands on her on more than one occasion.” Jabbari’s lawyers pointed out Majors’ January interview with ABC News where he maintained that he has “never hit a woman” and that he said he didn’t know how Jabbari sustained her injuries.

Following Majors’ arrest in 2023, the rising Hollywood star was dropped by both his management and publicist teams. Searchlight Pictures indefinitely postponed Magazine Dreams’ December 2023 theatrical release and Marvel severed ties with Majors despite previously planning the franchise’s next two movies around his character.
