Kingston reports 19% drop in corporate greenhouse gas emissions since 2018

In a study headed for metropolis council, the City of Kingston says it has achieved a 19 per cent simplification successful firm greenhouse state emissions since 2018, according to its 2023 Emissions Inventory Report.

The metropolis recorded full emissions of 24,031 tonnes of c dioxide equivalent, which reflects important advancement toward its biology goals.

The study besides highlights a 24.2 per cent alteration successful per capita emissions.

Other large improvements were seen successful proscription emissions, which fell by 11.2 per cent, and transit emissions, which dropped by 46.4 per cent owed to fleet electrification and accrued usage of biodiesel.

However, determination were immoderate hurdles to climb. The metropolis faced challenges with wastewater emissions rising by 35.7 per cent and h2o services emissions expanding by 49.8 per cent.
