The third season premieres Feb. 16, with Lisa's debut album releasing Feb. 28
Despite prior experience performing before international audiences as a member of Blackpink, Lisa said she got jitters on the set for the White Lotus set. Lisa, who made her acting debut on the drama’s third season, recounted one of the moments when the show’s director Mike White called “action,” in an interview with Variety Monday.
“I’m so nervous. I was sweating,” Lisa said, at the White Lotus Season Three premiere. “I was like, ‘I can’t remember my lines.’ I’m blanked.”
White Lotus Season Three draws another group of snobbish, affluent vacationers to a luxury resort, this time in Thailand. Over the week-long vacation, much like at the Hawaii and Sicily-based White Lotus resorts, someone ends up dead. Lisa stars as resort employee Mook. While filming, Lisa said she shared her single “Rockstar” with her cast members, before releasing it to the public.
“It is my first acting [experience] so I don’t know what to expect on set, but everybody just being so supportive helped me a lot,” she added. “So thank you, everyone.”
Other cast members include Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood as an unlikely couple; Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, and Michelle Monaghan as longtime friends; and Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola as a well-to-do family of vacationers. Additional cast members include Lek Patravadi as one of the hotel owners, Tayme Thapthimthong as a hotel guard, and returning cast member Natasha Rothwell as a spa manager on a wellness retreat. The first two seasons received 43 Emmy nominations and banked 15 wins including an Outstanding Supporting Actress win for Jennifer Coolidge.
Lisa discussed her mix of nerves and excitement ahead of her acting debut in an October interview with Rolling Stone, along with her eagerness to pursue a new art form. The Blackpink member plans to release her debut solo album Alter Ego Feb. 28, with a Blackpink reunion tour before the end of the year.
“I’m working on so many projects at the same time,” she said. “I will do White Lotus and will still be working on my music, releasing my album. By next year, I think I would just keep releasing music and get together with the girls. I can’t wait to share with the girls what I’ve been doing.”
