Missing teen hiker in California reunited with family after spending night in sub-freezing temperature

A 16-year-old miss who went missing during a hike with her canine successful Northern California connected Sunday was recovered harmless aft spending a nighttime successful below-freezing temperatures, officials said Monday.

The teen’s parent had dropped her disconnected adjacent the Elwell Lodge successful the Lakes Basin country of Plumas County connected Sunday day for a hike with her "small Chihuahua-type dog," the Plumas County Sheriff's Office said. 

When the teen failed to instrumentality by 6 p.m., the sheriff's bureau said the parent reported her overdue to authorities.

Rescuers resumed the hunt Monday morning, with numerous counties, agencies, household and friends assisting. Multiple helicopters and fixed-wing craft besides joined the search.
