The country icon will appear on a new version of “Please Please Please,” set for release on Valentine’s Day alongside four other tracks including "Busy Woman"
Sabrina Carpenter put the good judgment and even better taste she boasts about on “Please Please Please” to exceptional use for the forthcoming deluxe edition of Short n’ Sweet. Arriving on Valentine’s Day, the extended version of the record will feature an updated recording of “Please Please Please” featuring country icon Dolly Parton.
“As a thank you for giving this album 2 Grammy’s :’) short n’ sweet deluxe is now available for pre order.. out February 14th,” Capenter wrote on Instagram. “And yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton…. 💋💋💋 she wouldn’t want me to swear but holy shit!!!!!”
It’s a full circle collaboration. Speaking about “Please Please Please” last year, producer Jack Antonoff told Rolling Stone: “There’s like an Olivia Newton [John] feeling, there’s a Dolly feeling, there’s an incredibly super modern pop feeling. The little vocal runs she does are so bizarre and unique — they’re doing this really odd, classic, almost yodel-y country thing. She’s becoming one of the biggest young pop stars, and that song is such a statement of expressing yourself, not just lyrically, but sonically.”
Short n’ Sweet, which was awarded Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday, will be expanded to include five new songs. The first track on the upcoming release is titled “15 Minutes,” followed by “Please Please Please” with Parton, “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman,” and “Bad Reviews.”
Carpenter previously premiered “Busy Woman” live during the Short n’ Sweet tour. The Feb. 14 arrival of the new songs comes less than one month before the tour is scheduled to resume in Dublin on March 3.
