Jamming out to Steal Your Face while cooking dinner isn’t the only way to bring the Grateful Dead into your kitchen. Now, Dead Heads can order a new, updated collection of Grateful Dead aprons and more from premium kitchen accessories company Hedley & Bennett.

The first Grateful Dead x Hedley & Bennett Essential Aprons line officially launched in 2021, but after a couple “sold out runs”, the latest 2025 “Steal Your Face” collection arrived this week, starting at $120 per apron and $75 for the tie-dye bears tote bag.

The newest apron and matching tote come in a black denim, with all the detailings of an old-school Bear-built sound system. Made with stretchy, tough cotton that can hold up in any cooking situation, each apron also comes with red rose embroidery lets fellow heads know you’re part of the club.

New to the line is the Steal Your Face Chef’s Knife, with balanced Japanese steel that meets California cool. Originally sketched to help roadies spot equipment cases on crowded festival stage, the now-iconic skull is etched into the blade alongside the Capri blue handle.

The psychedelic launch is an officially licensed collaboration with the band, and also features slightly stretchy tie-dye totes with the iconic dancing bears as chefs, holding kitchen essentials like whisks, knives and spatulas in hand.

Originally part of the 2021 collection launch, Hedley & Bennett’s denim apron, which was created using soft deadstock materials from Los Angeles, is also still available. Tie-dye patchwork pockets are stitched into the apron, so you can free up your hands and store utensils, a bottle opener or any other tools while you’re prepping a meal.

“There is so much love for the Grateful Dead in the food world and amongst so many big huge chefs,” Hedley & Bennett’s founder and CEO Ellen Bennett previously told Rolling Stone. In fact, Bennett also happens to be a Dead Head herself. “I discovered the Grateful Dead [around] the same time I got my start as a cook many years ago,” Bennett says.

“One of my first restaurant jobs ever was at this incredible two-Michelin star place called Providence, run by Chef Michael Cimarusti, who also happens to be a passionate Dead Head,” Bennett says. “Chef ran the tightest ship possible, always holding us to the highest standards of perfection all while the Dead would be blasting away in the background, keeping a creative spirit to the kitchen no matter how serious things got.”

The latest apron launch comes on the heels of several other recent Grateful Dead merch collaborations. Last fall, the band teamed up with beverage brand Weird Tea to release a “Weird Yerba” drink collab, and recently released an unexpected luxe capsule collection with designer Gabriela Hearst which utilized visual deep-cuts from the band’s beatnik beginnings (including Roy Henry Vickers’ artwork from the Dead’s album Pacific Northwest ’73-’74: The Complete Recordings).

The latest Hedley & Bennett collection is available to shop online now, including the previous releases. Because it’s a limited-edition run, you may want to scoop these up for the chef in your life before these sell out. And for more Grateful Dead merch, you can find more ideas in our gift guide here.
