It’s been 40 years since Iron Maiden unleashed Powerslave into the world, with the album now considered by many — including this publication — to be one of the best metal releases of all time.
Now, fans of the band can commemorate Powerslave’s 40th anniversary with a limited-edition Iron Maiden “Mummy Eddie” figurine from Target.
Based on the character featured on the original album cover, and later on the artwork for the band’s 1984 “World Slavery Tour,” the figurine features 12 points of articulation, including textured bandages meant to evoke the linen wraps used in the mummification process. The metal chains, meantime, can either be connected to the mouth or unhooked (for when the mummy “breaks free”). The set also includes a second head that shows off more of Eddie’s face, without the bandages covering it.
The Iron Maiden Powerslave Mummy Eddie figurine measures eight inches tall and comes in a collectible window box adorned with the band’s iconography. This is an officially licensed product between Iron Maiden and NECA toys.
This release is a Target exclusive, so you won’t be able to find it anywhere else. Shop the Iron Maiden action figure now on Target.com. As with many collectibles, quantities are limited so we recommend adding to cart while the Mummy Eddie is still in stock.
In addition to the new action figure release, Iron Maiden is also prepping a 40th anniversary edition release of Powerslave, due out in November.
Presented on a gold disc, the limited-edition LP features remastered audio, new artwork, and liner notes from bassist Steve Harris. Your purchase of the Powerslave vinyl also includes a digital MP3 version of the album that is yours to download and keep.
You can also catch the band on the road this fall for their “Future Past” tour. Dates kick off in October and run till the end of November. Find tickets here.
