Watch Jimmy Fallon Inexplicably Subject Prince Harry to a Haunted House

Either Prince Harry is out of cash or he really loves haunted houses. The royal joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show to promote the late-night host’s haunted maze experience in what appears to basically be an ad for the Rockefeller Center tourist attraction.

In the clip, Prince Harry accompanies Fallon through the Halloween-themed maze, telling Fallon that he’s “not usually” scared, but “today might be different.” Both wear chest cameras aimed at their faces and occasionally scream and swear as grotesque actors jump out at them.

Fallon has been regularly airing segments themed around “Tonightmares,” which is a thing you can actually book tickets to and experience yourself (probably without Prince Harry). It’s basically a pop-up Halloween maze, so it’s a bit weird that a member of the British royal family would participate in its promotion.

Although Prince Harry didn’t sit down with Fallon for an actual interview, he has been in New York City during the UN General Assembly this week. He attended several Climate Week events, including the Clinton Global Initiative, where he gave a speech aimed at tech companies.

“Our laws and regulations are different state-to-state, country-to-country—we may have different backgrounds, viewpoints, beliefs, and even access to the internet itself,” he said in the speech. “But the one thing we can universally agree on is the safety of our children. So why, why do the leaders of these insanely powerful social media companies still refuse to change? Why are we holding them to the lowest ethical standards? In any other circumstance, a business would commit all resources to fixing the bug.”

Earlier this year, Prince Harry addressed his lawsuits against the U.K. tabloids in a new documentary, Tabloids on Trial, which aired on ITV in the U.K. “It would be nice if we, you know, did it as a family,” Harry said in a documentary. “I believe that, again, from a service standpoint and when you are in a public role, that these are the things that we should be doing for the greater good. But you know, I’m doing this for my reasons… It’s caused, yeah, as you say, part of a rift.”

In December, a judge awarded Harry damages totaling £140,600 (about $178,000 at the time) to conclude the prince’s lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers, which includes The Mirror, The Sunday Mirror, and The Sunday People. The judge ruled the papers used “unlawful information gathering” tactics. In February, Harry agreed to a further settlement of £400,000 (about $505,000) with Mirror Group for invading his private life.
