West Ham mocked by Chelsea star in social media post as Troy Deeney gives scathing verdict on ‘awful’ Hammers

Tosin Adarabioyo couldn’t resist poking fun at West Ham following their 3-0 win on Saturday.

The Hammers were well-beaten and were even denied a penalty thanks to a contentious VAR call.

The Chelsea star played a key role in the victory at the London Stadium – a result that he perhaps saw coming.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, the defender wrote: “Bubbles to burst,” in reference to West Ham’s iconic anthem ‘I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles’.

He then followed that post up with another after the full-time whistle that said: “Pop pop,” with a picture of him walking out alongside some bubbles at the home of the Hammers.

While Adarabioyo saw the funny side of the result, the same couldn’t be said for former boss David Moyes.

He told beIN Sports: “It was a poor performance and they’ll be disappointed because we had a pretty good record against Chelsea at the London Stadium over the years.

“We’ve had our difficulties at Stamford Bridge but at home we’ve been pretty good against them.

“It’s been a disappointing day.”

But while Moyes says that West Ham have had a bad day at the office, Troy Deeney told talkSPORT that their problems are down to new boss Julen Lopetegui.

Asked when we should take Chelsea seriously, Deeney said: “When they don’t play a team that are as bad as West Ham.

“I think that West Ham were awful. They played into their hands all the way through.

“I remember being on a show early in the season and putting my thoughts out on the manager and West Ham fans thought I was being really cynical and that I needed to see how he was going to transform the way they were going to play.

“But look at what we just witnessed, awful again. It’s always nice to be right.

“If Chelsea were what they should be with the talent that they have they should have won seven or eight nil today.

“So many times they were breaking away in the second half and it looked like they just wanted to keep-ball and thinking ‘job done, let’s just get home with no injuries.’”
