It’s time to return to the Duniverse with the premiere of Dune: Prophecy, a prequel series based on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel Sisterhood of Dune. The series takes place 10,000 years before the events of Denis Villeneuve’s recent Dune films, and follows Harkonnen sisters Valya (Jessica Barden/Emily Watson) and Tula (Emma Canning/Olivia Williams) as they’re thrust into political turmoil against Emperor Javicco Corrino (Mark Strong).

Where to Watch Dune: Prophecy Online
Dune: Prophecy is streaming exclusively on Max. If you’re not already subscribed, you can sign up through Prime Video, or on the Max website.
Max provides three subscription tiers to choose from. The ad-supported Essential plan costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 annually and allows for streaming on up to two devices at once. The Ad-Free plan, priced at $16.99 per month or $169.99 yearly, removes ads and lets you download content for offline viewing. The top-tier plan, Ultimate Ad-Free, costs $20.99 per month or $209.99 per year and allows streaming on up to four devices with enhanced audio and video quality for high-end setups.
You can get these plans through the Max site, but, to make things more streamlined, you can also sign up through Prime Video and keep your services under one roof. Pricing is the same. Another way to sign up is through the Hulu with Max bundle. This one lets you add Max to your existing Hulu subscription for the same price as above.
No matter how you sign up for Max, you’ll be able to stream Dune: Prophecy along with HBO’s other hits, including The Penguin, Hacks, and Industry.
Dune: Prophecy Release Date, Episodes
Dune: Prophecy premieres on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with the first episode, titled “The Hidden Hand.” The series will be just six episodes long, culminating with the finale on Dec. 22.

Valya Harkonnen is the leader of the powerful Sisterhood, which, in the time of Dune: Prophecy, rules the Imperium alongside Emperor Javicco Corrino. This alliance begins to crumble when both parties try to seize total power. The Sisterhood ultimately transforms into the Bene Gesserit sect, which we saw in Dune and Dune: Part Two.
