Saying “Beetlejuice” three times will summon him, but there’s an easier way — as of today, Tim Burton’s hit Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is streaming on VOD. The film is available to buy in UHD, HD, or SD for $24.99 or rent for $19.99. It’s available on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and other video rental platforms.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a sequel to the 1988 film Beetlejuice, and the sequel sees Michael Keaton, Catherine O’Hara, and Winona Ryder reprise their roles from the first film. The sequel added Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Jenna Ortega, and Willem Dafoe to the cast, and raked in a cool $375 million against a $100 million budget.
The version that’s available to rent or buy on Prime is the Bonus X-Ray Edition, an optional feature allowing viewers to see trivia, Easter eggs, and cast information on the lower part of the screen while they watch.
In a mixed review, Rolling Stone’s David Fear praised the casting of Jenna Ortega, writing “Ortega’s ability to express vulnerability, exasperation, rage, and more via a world-class deadpan stare comes in handy when she’s passed the mantle of My So-Called Afterlife Goth-teen moodiness from Ryder.”
The original 1988 film is streaming on Max. The sequel, a Warner Bros. release, is expected to end up on Max as well, though likely sometime in November (so not before Halloween). Fans of physical media can pre-order the film on Blu-Ray or DVD before its release on November 19.
