It follows their last trek, in support of Born Pink, which launched in 2022
Following the launch of independent projects by Blackpink‘s Lisa, Rosé, Jisoo, and Jennie, the K-pop group is getting back together for a world tour, according to a teaser released Wednesday.
Although the K-pop supergroup has yet to announce the specific tour dates and routing, their upcoming shows mark the group’s latest tour since they hit the road in support of Born Pink, which launched in 2022.
The Born Pink tour, described as the “largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group” at the time, began on their home turf of Seoul, South Korea, and made stops in U.S. cities including Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles before concluding in Seoul, South Korea, in September 2023. Following the global tour, Blackpink released concert film Blackpink World Tour [Born Pink] on July 31.
Since the group wrapped their tour and released 2023 single “The Girls,” Blackpink members have launched individual projects. For starters, Rosé released her debut album on Dec. 6, a 12-track project that showcases her “chameleonic personality and straightforwardly winsome vocals,” per a Rolling Stone review. On the heels of Rosé’s album, Lisa’s debut album Alter Ego is expected to arrive at the end of the month. Lisa has since released “New Woman” with Rosalía, “Rockstar,” and “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),” with “Born Again” featuring Raye and Doja Cat heading to music streamers on Friday.
Jisoo and Jennie have also shared projects, with Jisoo’s mini album Amortage, and Jennie’s debut album Ruby announcement last month. Jennie will couple her latest project with The Ruby Experience, a three-city show run with performances by Kali Uchis, Dua Lipa, and Doechii.
