Reach For The Moon

Was owned by the Royal Family solely up until May but is now jointly owned by HM The Queen & The Late Sir Chips Keswick, so adorns the red sleeves, yellow cap and brown jersey.

This Sea The Stars gelding was looking like he would be a solid flat runner but after winning a Group 3 in August 2021 could only manage successive 2nd places.

Switched to hurdles when moved from John & Thady Gosden’s yard to Jamie Snowden.

Seemed to have figured things out last time out though when winning by over eight lengths to Manowest at Worcester.

Now reaches a mark of 114 which puts him right up there for trainer Snowden.

Stream Of Stars

Another Sea Of Stars gelding, this time trained by Nigel Twiston Davies and has Sam Twiston-Davies on board – who are both in great form.

Returned from a whopping 986 days break to win here over 2m3f last month and that means he’s the same weight he was back in 2021 when Beating Aucunrisque and Rock Legend.

To return from that long away from the track and win is a great sign of how capable he still is and could be, especially as he reached a mark of 125 when first going into handicaps in December 2021.

Hutchence

Ascot’s going was Heavy on Thursday and heading into Friday it won’t have dried much, making the conditions certainly on the testing side.

This 2m Colliers Handicap is enough to separate those who thrive on the softer ground while offering opportunity for those horses on the up mark wise to make an impact.

Maxident seems to have been at around this level in his last few races but has yet to go on from it, so is tough to side with, even with Oisin Murphy on board.

Wonderful Eagle has the ability to go well on heavy ground, while Hutchence as upped to 1m6f for the first time at Haydock last month and went well in Class 2 company to come third, on the back of a 6lb rise.

That’s made him rise another 1lb and the Frankel gelding should only appreciate another step up in distance.

However, his form on softer ground has not seen promising results – though that could be down to the two he did run on softer ground being a debut and a first run of the season, while both not being far enough.

With his pedigree though, it’s probably worth risking it for this.

Never So Brave

The conditions and the drop back to 6f might see this Sir Michael Stoute-trained horse back in the winners’ enclosure.

The colt wont on soft ground at Thirsk in April by a convincing margin before going on to win at Chester comfortably too.

That saw him rise another 7lb and he’s been up there in tough handicaps and group contests since.

This horse was a close second to Vandeek the last time he tried 6f on what was just his second race of his career and it could be a great move from connections.

Beat Box

Won four in a row under Harry and for Dan Skelton and is yet to look phased.

His latest of 6lb should be handled comfortably and likely to add another win to his Market Rasen, Newton Abbot and Worcester victories this season.
