WWE set to bring Elimination Chamber to England in 2025 with two cities in running for top pay-per-view

WWE looks set to bring a major Premium Live Event to England in 2025 with two host cities said to be in the running.

Since 2003, just three major events have been staged on these shores as WWE slowly begins to re-establish the UK as a regular fixture in the calendar.

Back in 2022, Cardiff, Wales played host to Clash at the Castle where Drew McIntyre was defeated by Roman Reigns in the main event, less than a year before London’s O2 played host to Money in the Bank and one of Ronda Rousey’s final major matches for the company.

Earlier this summer, the second clash event was held at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow as returning hometown hero McIntyre was once again thwarted, this time by Damian Priest – albeit with the help of CM Punk.

Now, with fans – and megastars like John Cena – still urging WWE to bring WrestleMania to Britain, it looks as though company bosses may have edged slightly closer to that possibility by staging the major pre-Mania event in the UK next year.

A new report from noted outlet WrestleVotes has claimed that the Elimination Chamber is on its way to this side of the pond, the PLE now firmly established as the last big outing prior to WrestleMania where all major storylines are shaped as stars battle it out inside the brutal chamber structure for titles – or chances to compete for them.

It’s emerged that the location for any UK Elimination Chamber is up in the air, however, with two regular WWE spots said to be in the running to host the blockbuster.

Manchester, which hosted many a UK-only pay-per-view in the 1990s and early 2000s, is thought to be in with a shout of landing the epic, while Birmingham is also in the running, having memorably staged One Night Only in 1997 that featured the likes of Shawn Michaels, The British Bulldog and The Undertaker.

Discussing the news, Joey Votes speaking on WrestleVotes Radio said: “We can confirm that the Elimination Chamber PLE is headed to the United Kingdom in March of 2025 on the road to WrestleMania in Las Vegas.

“We are hearing two leaders to get that show would be Manchester and Birmingham, so we’ll see what they decide.”

While WWE have yet to formally confirm the news, the staging of Elimination Chamber would seem a logical next step for the UK, with London Mayor Sadiq Khan having held talks with the grappling giant’s Head of Creative, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and President Nick Khan about a future WrestleMania here.

Having hosted the pair at a meeting in July, Sadiq Khan said: “This is the start of a conversation we’re going to have with WWE; these things often take time.

“It took us a long time to get baseball to London, we’re working to get basketball to London as well, so we’re going to have those conversations.

“I know, though, that there are fans desperate to see Damian Priest, Cody Rhodes and others in London, and also the legends.

“The great thing about WWE is that they organise fantastic events when it comes to WrestleMania.

“We’ve seen the difference they’ve made in Philadelphia, previously in other cities from Detroit to New York, and I think it will be a huge benefit to London.

“And indeed fans across the country and Europe who will come to London to watch WrestleMania, that’s affordable rather than having to fly to America.”

Brits are already bracing for WWE change in 2025 with its weekly television shows Raw and SmackDown joining PLEs in being aired on Netflix in the UK come the New Year.
