The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) precocious arrested a 36-year-old pistillate from Brazil who ingested 124 capsules containing 973 grams of cocaine to smuggle it to India.
According to DRI officials, the pistillate Jaqueline Maltez Tiagas was caught aft she landed astatine the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport successful Mumbai from Sau Paulo connected September 18.
According to the DRI officials, Tiagas admitted that she had ingested capsules containing drugs. “The rider was produced earlier the magistrate and arsenic per the tribunal order, she was admitted astatine Sir JJ Hospital successful Mumbai,” said a DRI official.
Tiagas purged 124 capsules containing 973 grams of cocaine, which is valued astatine Rs 9.73 crore successful the illicit market. “The substance, purported to beryllium cocaine arsenic per the tract trial report, was recovered and seized connected September 21, nether the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985,” said an officer.
The rider has been arrested and further probe is underway, said DRI.
