Liam Gallagher gives perfect response when asked about 96,000 fans at Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois show

Liam Gallagher joked the Wembley crowd is a ‘little on the small side’ ahead of his performance at Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois.

The Oasis star will deliver a highly-anticipated show before the two British heavyweights do battle in front of 96,000 people on Saturday night.

Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher recently announced Oasis will reform for a record-breaking tour of the UK and Ireland which will take place next year.

But many boxing fans in attendance at Wembley are hoping to see the pair perform together for the first time in 15 years at this weekend’s event, although those rumours are purely speculative.

Liam recently confirmed the setlist will consist of three huge Oasis anthems: Rock n’ Roll Star, Supersonic, and Cigarettes and Alcohol.

One fan responded to the singer on X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote: “96k people, you excited?”

Liam, known for his straight-talking attitude and unserious approach on social media, replied: “Yeah it’s a little on the small side but I’ll manage.”

Of course, Liam is no stranger to big crowds, having played to 500,000 people across two iconic Oasis shows at Knebworth in 1994.

More than 1.5million people will watch the band reunite in 2025, although many more missed out on tickets after lengthy queues and highly-criticised ‘in-demand pricing’ schemes.

Liam’s performance at AJ vs Dubois was booked before the reunion was announced and all three songs on the setlist feature his voice on lead vocals, rather than Noel’s.

Nevertheless, event organiser Turki Alalshikh told talkSPORT he would reach out to Noel in an attempt to host the first Oasis show since 2009 before the IBF heavyweight title fight.

Asked earlier this month if Noel will be alongside Liam, the Saudi boxing chief said: “I hope so!

“It will be something amazing if we get them together.”

Quizzed on whether he’d already asked Noel, he said: “We will try. Why not?”

However, promoter Eddie Hearn has since poured cold water on those rumours.

“No, I doubt it,” Hearn told Betfred.

“I think Oasis have their own plans for their reunion, but if there was anybody that could deliver it, I would say it’s Turki Alalshikh.

“I’m sure those conversations would have been had, but my guess is that Oasis will be starting their reunion at the beginning of their tour.”
