Voltas, Lumax, UNO Minda among 18 firms selected under PLI scheme for whitegoods

"In the 3rd circular of the online exertion model of the PLI strategy , a full of 38 applications were received. After reviewing these applications, the authorities has provisionally selected 18 caller companies. These companies see 10 manufacturers of components of Air Conditioners and 8 manufacturers of LED Lights, with committed concern of Rs 2,299 crore," the commerce and manufacture ministry said.

In addition, it said, six existing PLI beneficiaries person been provisionally selected to upgrade to higher concern categories, committing an further concern of Rs 1,217 crore.

It added that for Air Conditioners, companies volition beryllium manufacturing components similar compressors, copper tubes, and vigor exchangers among others. Similarly, for LED Lights, LED spot packaging, drivers, engines, airy absorption systems and metallized films for capacitors volition beryllium manufactured successful India.

"Altogether, 84 companies nether the PLI Scheme for White Goods are acceptable to bring investments of Rs 10,478 crore, resulting successful accumulation worthy Rs 1,72,663 crore," it said.
